Editorial policy

Last updated: 20 October 2026

Moviepedia exists to give readers accurate, verifiable facts about films and series. This policy explains how pages are made and checked.

Two kinds of pages

Title, person and list pages are built from public data sources (listed on our data sources page). Every value records which source supplied it. When sources disagree, a fixed order decides: our editors first, then the CBFC record, then Wikidata, Wikipedia and TVmaze.

News articles are written by our editors and carry the author’s name and the date of publication and of any update.

Use of AI

Short summaries on title pages may be drafted with the help of AI writing tools. They are written only from the facts shown on the same page; no facts are invented, and pages without enough verified data are kept out of search engines until they have it. News articles are written by people.

Accuracy

  • Certificate details are taken from CBFC records and shown with credit to the CBFC.
  • Dates that a source gives only to the month or year are shown that way, not guessed to the day.
  • Upcoming release dates can change; we update them as studios and platforms announce changes.

Independence

We do not accept payment for coverage, ratings or placement. Advertising is shown by Google AdSense and is clearly separated from content. Any sponsored article would be labelled “Sponsored” at the top.

Corrections

Mistakes are fixed promptly, as described in our corrections policy.
